System B8 Møbler Compact Desk in Ash, 1980s
Old mate B8 was the cute Danish desk I worked from during Melbourne’s many months of treacherous lockdowns. Out of coincidence I purchased old mate only a couple of days before we went into our very first lockdown early 2020. The next year and a half I spent with him were wonderful. We quickly developed a special bond; he would hold my computer screen up at an optimal viewing height and in return I would rub his belly whilst feeding him Dansk butter cookies. He was my working from home companion, but now, in the words of Andrea Bocelli: “it is time to say goodbye to my desk”, and in the words of Adele: “Hello to your new desk”.
A super clever compact desk, it features versatile front and back platforms which are both height adjustable and extendable. It also dismantles completely for easy transportation or storage.
In good vintage condition, some minor damage/wear to the timber veneer on one of the side panels (see second last photo) and the plastic caps on the legs are looking a little worn (see last photo).
