5070 Condiment Set by Ettore Sottsass for Alessi, 1978

$220.00
Sold

Belonging to Alessi’s 'Programma 5’ product collection, the 5070 condiment set is a utilitarian piece of design that was ahead of its time, providing an early indication of the design style that would become dominant through the 1980s. The containers are like delicate perfume bottles (and were described as ‘fragrance for salad’ in Metropolis magazine in 1986).

Crystal glass cylinders with matte-finish black lacquered stainless steel caps and base. One of the salt and pepper shakers has some damage to its base which has been repaired (please see last photo), though hardly noticeable and doesn’t affect use at all.
